Emergy Electrical Primary School Relays
The Primary School Relays are unique in that they are designed as an inter-school competition with teams of four (4) children competing. The Emergy Electrical Primary School Relays are open to all primary school in S E Queensland. The races are conducted in two groups, one for boys and one for girls, although occasionally there has been mixed teams, but if this does occer this race is run in the boys category. Each team consists of four boys or girls and is specific to a particular school. A school can enter more than one team in each category. The lead runner for each team assembles at the start line and on command races around the park on the bitumen road (approx. 700M) and returns to the start line passing his or her baton to the next runner in the team. This continues until the fourth member of the team has completed the course. The winner is the first team to complete the course without incurring any penalties.
This is an extremely popular event with in excess of 400 children participating.
The Emergy Electrical Interschool Primary School relay starts at 10am sharp at the Start/Finish Line. To register your school for the event, download an entry form or contact Judy Topper on (07) 5485 1313 before the end of term 2. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place girls and boys team each member receives a medallion and each winning school receives prize money.
