Heritage Markets
The day starts early with the setting up of the Heritage Markets, getting side show ally in place and finalising the various exhibitions, workshops and other attractions. The first organised event for the day commencing at 7am is the Bush Poet's Breakfast, here you get a great Aussie breakfast and be entertained by some of Australia's best bush poet's. The Heritage Markets and side show ally are open from 7.00am. For the athletic person you can compete or just come along to watch and cheer on runners in the Quarter Marathon Race starting at 8am. Get the whole family together to enter the 3km Family Fun Run commencing after the finish of the Quarter Marathon Race around 9am. Starting at approx. 10am, 40 Schools from the Sunshine Coast and surrounding area will compete in the Interschool primary school relay competition.
A variety of scrumptious food and drinks are available all day in the food court. Roving entertainers, bands, street performers, clowns, jugglers, etc. are on hand to entertain you throughout the day. Sit and listen to live entertainment on the main stage from 10.00am as does the entertainment in the food court area commence. There are many other activities which change from year to year, these can include Belly dancers, Tai Kwan Do exhibitions, Art workshops, Quilt exhibition, Percussion workshops, Motorcycle stunt riders, BMX bike stunt riders, Snake exhibition, and much more.
Whilst all this and more is taking place during the day it all leads up to the internationally recognised famous Mountain Challenge Race at 3pm.
