Shirley Friend (Floozie)

Author and comedian bush poet

Shirley Friend is the most popular roommate in 'Big Brother' who drinks a case of passion alcopops a night. Says her ideal job other than comedy poetry, is to be a Brothel Madam in Parliament House and to write a tell all book titled... 'Who Was There At My Opening', with Harry Miller as her agent. But wat'll cheese her off is being in constant demand on Andrew Denton, The Book Club, The Today Show, The David Letterman Show etc. Never less, I'll still be on the Best Show On Earth... The Poets Breakfast at this year's Pomona's King of the Mountain. See you there..... Love Shirl (Floozie)

Gary Fogarty

Inaugural Australian Bush Poetry Champion

Gary Fogarty is the genuine article, a boy from the bush who makes no excuses for the fact that he derives his inspiration from the humour, the strength, the ingenuity and the spirit of the many characters he has encounted in a life time spent living and working in rural Australia.

Cheeky, quick-witted and a fiercely proud Australian, he writes from the heart and tells it exactly as he sees it. No glossy covers here, what you see is what you get, this uniquely talented performer is equally at home delivering his energy packed shows to appreciative crowds at the Gympie Muster, as he is addressing company directors at a high flying corporate conference.

Brad Maclean

Brad Maclean, a country guy who spent most of the late 80's and early 90's hand raising budgies and finches for a proposed miniature bird circus, which unfortunately never came to success due to lack of interest and his inability to train budgies and finches. In 1999 Australian sporit he tried to rebuild his career in the entertainment arena with a unique act involving a group of ants walking a tight rope between tow vegemite jars. Critics were harsh on the performance and again he failed miserably. Unfortunately a gross lack of fitness has forced him to pull out of the mountain run. Brad will be at the comedy bush poet's breakfast. Other then that he is unknown.

Gregory North

A resident of the Blue Mountains in NSW, Gregory North is a writer and performer of Bush Poetry and Yarns. His quirky humour and bent for accents make him unique among bush verse entertainers. He literally "lives" each character whether its the little boy at the footy match, the complaining granny or the suburban dude in his fully sick ute.

Since his first major competition win at the "Man From Snowy River Festival" in 2004, Greg has won a string of performance poetry awards including Australian Bush Poetry Champion in 2008. In late 2006 Greg won his first award for written poetry - a first place in the Gippsland Wattle Bush Poetry Award. Greg has also competed twice at the National Poetry Slam.

His DVD "Man of Many Hats" contains over 2 hours and 25 hats worth of poetry and yarns including Greg's famous rendition of Banjo Paterson's "The Man From Snowy River" in 14 different accents. It's full of great original Bush Poetry and yarns as well as guest appearances from Pat Drummond and Frank Daniel.

Fresh from wins at the National Bush Poetry Championships and National Poetry Slam, Greg is sure to entertain. www.gregorynorth.com.au

Marco Gliori

Marco Gliori loves making people laugh. He is part of the highly popular Naked Poets Comedy Troupe and with classic renditions like The Mr Whippy Rippoff, The Floater, The Breast Feeding Heckler and his whacky comedy Race calls, Marco is sure to have audiences in stitches. In 2008 The Aust Women's Weekly voted Marco their modern Banjo paterson, a comparison that Marco accepts graciously but also shies at.

"No-one could emulate what Banjo and Henry have achieved. They were the first to write about Australia using distinctly 'Aussie' language...but I'm happy to continue the tradition"

Marco will be performing tracks from his 'best of' collection plus heaps of new material off 'Cowpokes & Indians' winner of Album of The Year 2008 at the Australian Bush Laureate Awards.

As well as enjoying popularity as a much sought after corporate entertainer Marco is host of the famous Bush Poets Breakfasts at The Gympie Muster.
